Award Categories

Community Corrections Director of the Year Award: IACCAC endeavors to recognize stellar leadership and/or a significant contribution made by an agency Director. This award nomination category is intended to be very broad and can recognize on-going service or one specific contribution and can be focused in virtually any profession specific area. For example, a Director can be recognized in the area of local community impact, staff support and advancement, innovative leadership or for any on-going program/service platform compliance or advancement. Award Nominee must be an agency Director, and must be an IACCAC member.

Community Corrections Advisory Board Member of the Year Award: Our Advisory Board members hold a statutorily designed role in each of our communities and work to support the mission of community corrections in Indiana. IACCAC wishes to recognize an Advisory Board member who is committed to the local Board with their time, talents and unique expertise. This award nomination category is intended to recognize a Board member who either has consistently worked above and beyond, or someone who has contributed greatly in a particular area and this contribution has led to greater understanding and/or support of the mission of community corrections in your area or has led to relief and support for the agency staff. Award Nominee does not have to be an IACCAC member.

Distinguished Service in Client Rehabilitation: IACCAC wishes to formally celebrate and recognize the many rehabilitative efforts of community corrections across Indiana. This award nomination can be applied to a single individual staff person who has made a significant contribution or achievement in the area of one (or many) client’s rehabilitation or it can be applied to an agency’s particular programmatic efforts lead in an outstanding way by an individual staff person. Perhaps it’s a counselor/therapist? Perhaps it’s a program facilitator/educator? Perhaps it’s a case manager effectively utilizing Carey Tools? Help us by recognizing someone for “making a difference” through their outstanding and focused efforts in client rehabilitation! Award Nominee can be agency staff (either a supervisor or line staff) or an agency contractor, service provider or volunteer. Award Nominee does not have to be an IACCAC member.

Home Detention Staff Member of the Year Award: IACCAC wishes to recognize the unique and dangerous work performed by the home detention staff serving community corrections in Indiana. They are not only tasked with strict compliance monitoring duties in the office and in the field around the clock, they are also looked to for modeling pro-social behavior and mentoring those we serve. This award nomination is intended to recognize the work of these dedicated men and women and we ask that you tell us how your staff person has made an impact in your community and for your program either through a single outstanding act, or through a career dedicated to service. This award category is a great opportunity to tell us all a story of dedication, of bravery and/or perhaps of unparalleled and committed service and client accountability. Award Nominee must be a line staff member and must be an IACCAC member.

Residential/Work Release Staff Member of the Year Award: IACCAC wishes to recognize the unique skills and work performed by residential staff serving community corrections programs in Indiana. They are not only tasked with strict compliance monitoring duties in a residential setting, they are also looked to for modeling pro-social behavior and mentoring those we serve. This award nomination is intended to recognize the work of these dedicated men and women and we ask that you tell us how your staff has made a unique impact on your program and/or on your participant(s). This award category is a great opportunity to shine a light on the outstanding residential services happening in your community. Award Nominee must be a line staff member and must be an IACCAC member.

Outstanding Team Member of the Year Award: Community Corrections programs in Indiana provide a myriad of unique supervision and rehabilitative services. IACCAC wishes to recognize a member of your team who has worked far above and beyond the standard scope of their duties, who has developed and launched an innovative idea for your program that has proven successful, who has shown exemplary leadership or perhaps who is the “one” who keeps the agency together through their dedication and efforts. This award category can truly be an opportunity to recognize that “one person”… you all know the one we’re talking about don’t you? If they left, it would feel like everything was going to fall apart! Now’s your opportunity to sing their praises and garner the recognition and support that they so deserve! Award Nominee could be a supervisor, line staff or agency volunteer. An agency volunteer award Nominee does not have to be a member of IACCAC.

Innovative Service Award (in Support of Evidence-Based Practices): “Change Agent of the Year”- IACCAC again joins in the vision to build learning organizations that reduce recidivism through systemic integration of evidence-based principles in collaboration with community and justice partners. To this end we would like to recognize an agency, entity, service provider or individual who exemplifies what it means to embrace and implement evidence-based practice in community corrections through use of particular skills, tools and/or resources which has (or will in the future) result in making a positive long-term contribution to the community and public safety. Seize this opportunity to share with everyone how you and your staff are applying the principles at the individual case level, the agency level and/or at a system level by recognizing an innovative service being performed in your area! Award Nominee could be a supervisor or line staff member, and must be a member of IACCAC.
