Alex has over 20 years of experience working in human services. From mental health and substance use treatment to reentry systems, she has been implementing innovative justice reform strategies in organizations big and small. Prior to founding ACJI with her partners, Alex has worked across the legal spectrum in residential treatment, jails, halfway houses, prisons, and community reentry programs with her most recent position being the Vice Chair of the Colorado Board of Parole. Throughout her career, Alex has been tasked with implementing numerous agency-wide and statewide initiatives to create socially significant outcomes. She led the design and implementation of a level system and case planning process across 32 halfway house programs for the Colorado Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Justice and held a key leadership role in the implementation of numerous legislative initiatives.
The 2024 IACCAC Spring Conference will be held May 1, 2024 - May 3, 2024 at the French Lick Springs Resort, located at 8670 West State Road 56, French Lick, Indiana 47432.
The program will be presented by Dr. Alexandra Walker.
The conference theme is "Resilient Optimism & Implementation Leadership."
Dr. Walker's presentation will focus on:
- Resilient optimism and creating a plan to build resilient optimism for yourself and others,
- Staff engagement and building out a staff engagement plan for your organization,
- Implementation science and identifying capacity building gaps,
- Embracing the adaptive space, and
- Implementation leadership and creating a person leadership plan using an implementation lens.
If you are not currently a 2024 IACCAC member, you may wish to join the Association to receive the reduced conference rate.

The deadline to register for the 2024 Spring Conference is April 12, 2024.
Hotel Registration Information:
The IACCAC room block closed on March 30, 2024. If you intend to book a room, please call the French Lick Resort at 1-844-241-6361. The hotel will honor the group rate for rooms booked Sunday through Thursday; however, you will receive the best available rate for Friday and Saturday. Should hotel staff ask for the group code, please use "0424IAC".
*Room inventory for Wednesday (May 1) and Thursday (May 2) are extremely low and guests may have to book rooms at the Valley Tower or the West Baden Hotel.
*Please remember to provide a copy of your tax exemption, Form ST-105 at the time of check-in. Parking is free of charge.
